A quick, easy bonnet kit that puts to practice a few heirloom sewing techniques.  Effortlessly change one of our 100% linen handkerchiefs into a cute bonnet for the new baby on the way!  This bonnet is traditionally made to be worn as part of the coming home outfit or a Christening bonnet.  After the baby has grown up, this heirloom is pulled out again... a few stitches are clipped and it is turned into a beautiful linen handkerchief for the bride to use on her wedding day.  If the bonnet was for a boy, he will give it to his bride to use.

The Handkerchief Bonnet Kit includes a pattern (Handkerchief Bonnet Trio) which contains step by step, illustrated instructions for making 3 different styles of Handkerchief Bonnets, 1 yard of 1/8" satin ribbon, 1 1/2 yards of 1/2" satin ribbon and the handkerchief of your choice.

Included in the pattern is a poem explaining the use of the handkerchief as a bonnet as well as a future wedding handkerchief.
